The STCW basic training course is a mandatory training program for those working on board commercial ships. The course lasts 29 hours and is aimed at captains, officers, and any other maritime personnel designated to lead firefighting operations on board, with particular reference to organization, operational intervention methods, and direction of V teams for seafarers, officers, and any other maritime personnel destined to embark on tanker ships (oil tankers, chemical tankers, and gas carriers).
